If you’ve seen my Great Pumpkin Pocket Pillow, you probably saw a cute little Snoopy applique peaking over the pocket on the backside. Well, I figured I needed a crochet Woodstock to be his buddy! These are crochet appliqués inspired by the peanuts characters and they go perfectly with these holiday Peanuts board books: The Great Pumpkin, Be Thankful, and Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!

I put my cute little Woodstock on a brimmed hat This is just a basic DC hat with extra rounds of DC stitches at the bottom so I could flip it up for a brim. I will post a pattern for the hat soon!

– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Bright Yellow (other shades of yellow would work too!)

– Long strand of black yarn for face embellishments
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
Woodstock
Head:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Row 3: skip a stitch, SC in next 3 stitches, slip to next stitch, leaving remaining stitches unworked, chain 1, turn
Row 4: skip the slip stitch, SC in next two, slip stitch in next, chain 1, turn
Round 5: SC in the first two stitches, slip stitch in next 3, SC in the remaining stitches around head, join to first SC, chain 1
Round 6: 2 SC in first two stitches, Slip stitch in next 5, *[chain 5, slip stitch in second chain from hook, 2 slip stitches in next, Slip stitch in last two chains] slip stitch in next stitch, repeat from * two more times, *[chain 4, slip stitch in second chain from hook, 2 slip stitches in next, Slip stitch in last chain] slip stitch in next two stitches, repeat from * two more times, slip stitch in next stitch, chain 6, DC in 4th chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain (neck is made!), join to the next stitch, fasten off leaving long tail.
Stitch on little eye and smile with tapestry needle and black yarn.
Hands (make 2):
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 3 SC + HDC + 3 SC in ring, pull tight. No need to join. Leave long tail to stitch onto brim of hat or edge of pocket on pillow.
