The second home in our 2025 House Blanket Crochet-Along is a Birdhouse! This one is pretty in pink with a heart for the hole to coordinate with the month of February and Valentine’s Day!
I wanted to keep the graph simple for those who are new to corner-to-corner crochet. But then I decided that it needed a bird… and then I decided that it definitely needed a pair of lovebirds! So I have included 3 graphs below and you can decide which one you want to work with.
The yarn I am using is Red Heart Super Saver in Petal Pink (background), Light Raspberry and Shocking Pink (birdhouse), Light Blue and Coral (Birds). With a bit of Saffron yellow for the beak/feet and black for the bird eyes. As always, feel free to use whatever colors you’d like for your birdhouse square! I’m getting a lot of emails asking for the color list for the entire House Blanket CAL project. Unfortunately I am not working that far ahead and I don’t have yarn picked out for the upcoming squares. I do plan on having several colors repeat throughout the squares and you will want to have a variety of blue yarn on hand for several of the backgrounds of the squares.

Each month in 2025, I will be posting a House themed corner-to-corner crochet square. Each house will reflect the seasons and/ore holidays! At the end of the year I will stitch all 12 of the house squares together to make a stunning blanket of happy homes.
The links to all the patterns in this project will be available in one spot on the
>>> House Blanket Landing Page <<<

Each square starts with a 25×25 pixel graph. I use the corner-to-corner technique to crochet the square and the finished size of the crocheted squares are approximately 17 x 17 inches.
If you are new to the Corner-to-Corner (C2C) Crochet technique, let me explain a little bit about it. You can take a pixel graph and turn it into a crocheted piece. By starting in one corner of the graph (the lower right hand is most common place to start), you will crochet crochet diagonally in rows until you get to the other corner. One pixel square = a chain 2 + 3 HDC stitches. Please note that I am using HDC stitches for the C2C instead of DC.
Below is a Corner-to-Corner Video Tutorial:
My friends at The Crochet Crowd also have a really great C2C tutorial that was made using one of my patterns. >>> SEE IT HERE <<<
Birdhouse Square Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in colors Petal Pink (background), Light Raspberry and Shocking Pink (birdhouse), Light Blue and Coral (Birds). With a bit of Saffron yellow for the beak/feet and black for the bird eyes. You won’t need more than one skein of each for this square.

NOTE: the written patterns that include the blue bird will say “Delft Blue instead of Light Blue” This is because the light blue option was hard to see on the printed graph so I switched it out for readability purposes. But the yarn I used while crocheting is Light Blue.

I came upon another website that was discussing this subject in greater detail a few months ago. If you were able to shed some light on what is going on in the world, I am grateful to you. Certain websites have a clear bias toward aspects such as these. In light of this, what do you believe the general direction of the industry will be?

The only thing to say is “so beautiful”. The color of the product is lovely. If you complete a capybara clicker in brown, how long will it take.
This birdhouse crochet project sounds so cute! Loving the pink for February. The idea of adding lovebirds is a great touch. I’m curious, did you have any trouble deciding on the colors? I once tried a crochet project and spent ages picking the right shades. Also, which graph do you think will be the easiest for beginners?
This Birdhouse square is absolutely charming! Love how the details bring such cozy character to the CAL project. Can’t wait to see how the full blanket comes together. Wirtualne Kasyno
