2025 House Blanket CAL

January 7, 2025

It’s happening! I’m happy to announce the 2025 House Blanket C2C (corner-to-corner) Crochet Along! I was hesitant to start another year long CAL but I came up with a perfect solution to the issues I was having (more on that below) and I was itching to get another C2C project on my hook!

Each month in 2025, I will be posting a House themed corner-to-corner crochet square. The idea for these designs is actually a offshoot of my House Blanket Series. I’ve been wanting to continue the house designs and I think having all of the different house squares stitched together will make a stunning blanket at the end of the year.

If you aren’t familiar with my House Blankets, I made the Winter Cabin blanket about 2 years ago. It started with a C2C Square and then with the addition of a large border, it become a wonderful cozy winter blanket. I then made the Gingerbread House Blanket for Christmas and a Haunted House Blanket for Halloween! In addition, I have the square made for my Barn Blanket.

So that means 4 OF THE SQUARES ARE ALREADY POSTED! Yep! You can get a head start on the squares for January, April, October, and December. I will be reposting these squares during their allotted months (possibly with color adjustments depending on what yarn I have on hand), but since the pixel graphs are available, you can absolutely get started on them.

Winter Cabin (January Square)
Barn (April Square)
Haunted House (October Square)
Gingerbread House (December Square)

It’s 12 months of happy homes.

Ok let’s get back to why I was so hesitant to do another CAL. After doing these for a few years now (2022 Gnome Blanket, 2023 Animal Square CAL, and the 2024 Under the Sea CAL) I noticed that my motivation seems to dwindle after about 3 months. I’m always rushing to get the designs done on the last few days of the month which in many instances are holidays, family birthdays, or other crochet deadlines for my partnership with Yarnspirations. And as much as I love Christmastime, the holidays are busy and can be stressful. Finishing the entire blanket during that time of year pretty much sends me into a frenzy. 2025 will be different! As I mentioned above, January, April, October, and December squares are already DONE! So the busy months are taken care of. I’ve also pre-made all of the pixel graphs so that part of the design process is finished as well!

I will be using Red Heart Super Saver yarn for the entire project. I do not have colors picked out yet. I need to restock my blue yarn after the Under the Sea CAL depleted my stash. But beyond that, I will be using colors I have on hand. I will post the colors I use each month along with the pixel graphs.

>>> You can stock up on all shades of Red Heart Super Saver yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com <<< Most colors are currently marked down to $2.00 for a huge online sale!

Each square starts with a 25×25 pixel graph. I use the corner-to-corner technique to crochet the square and the finished size of the crocheted squares are approximately 17 x 17 inches.

If you are new to the Corner-to-Corner (C2C) Crochet technique, let me explain a little bit about it. You can take a pixel graph and turn it into a crocheted piece. By starting in one corner of the graph (the lower right hand is most common place to start), you will crochet crochet diagonally in rows until you get to the other corner. One pixel square = a chain 2 + 3 HDC stitches. Please note that I am using HDC stitches for the C2C instead of DC.

Below is a Corner-to-Corner Video Tutorial:

Absolutely love the 2025 House Blanket CAL idea. The design feels both modern and sentimental. I’ve been working on the first square during breaks, and somehow ended up switching between crocheting and playing Retro Bowl. A weird combo, but surprisingly relaxing.

I love how your monthly “house”-inspired blanket project illustrates such creative variety—each square represents a different style or season, making a cozy journey through time and space. It got me thinking: just as you’re inviting people to explore new patterns and textures, travellers in Dubai can step *off the beaten path* and experience something uniquely thrilling. For those seeking the ultimate desert adventure, nothing compares to desert dune bashing Dubai—a high-adrenaline ride over rolling sands that blends natural beauty, local culture and fun in the open air. Great work on this CAL initiative; it’s amazing to see creativity unfolding month after month!

This blanket project looks amazing! The month-by-month squares make it so easy to stay motivated, and I love how each section builds toward a final design without feeling overwhelming. Having a clear pattern and structure really helps crafters enjoy the process rather than get lost in it — especially on big year-long projects like this.

It actually reminds me of how important structure is in larger tech or organizational projects too. i3solutions delivers a phased, exit-ready modernization roadmap that provides structure, control, and future-proof decision points at every stage. Whether you’re stitching a blanket or modernizing an IT environment, breaking work into manageable, well-planned phases reduces stress and keeps everything on track.

Thanks for sharing this CAL — it’s inspiring and really well laid out!

This 2025 house blanket cal looks absolutely cozy and perfect for winter — I love how the pattern brings warmth and style together! The step-by-step instructions and photos make it easy to follow along, even for those who might be newer to crocheting or looking for a relaxing project. Creating something handmade like this not only results in a beautiful blanket, but the process itself can be so therapeutic and satisfying.

It’s interesting how creative hobbies like crafting can pair nicely with other elements of lifestyle and self-expression. Just as you choose yarn colors and patterns that reflect your personality, choosing a scent that matches your mood and style can be another subtle layer of personal expression. For anyone who enjoys refining their style both in handmade crafts and everyday life, you might like checking out janan perfume for male and females for quality fragrances that complement your unique presence.

Really appreciated the heart behind “2025-house-blanket” and the focus on keeping families warm through practical care. Efforts like this show how small actions can create lasting comfort when communities rally together. I’ve seen similar momentum around AutoZone community impact where consistent support helps meet real needs without a lot of noise. It’s encouraging to see initiatives that blend compassion with action. Hope this inspires even more people to get involved and keep the momentum going.
