You might be surprised to hear that growing up in a crochet-filled house doesn’t automatically mean your kids will become crocheters! Zoe has always appreciated my yarn projects, but crochet hasn’t quite been her thing. Then she discovered embroidery, and everything clicked. Seeing her light up with a needle and thread has been just as rewarding.
Zoe is 12 years old, and earlier this year she surprised all of us with her natural talent for embroidery during a school art project. She designed and stitched the sweetest handmade Mother’s Day gift, and it sparked a brand new creative interest. If you missed that project, you can see it here:

Not long after, this Wonderart Stitchcraft kit arrived from Yarnspirations, and I immediately knew it would make a wonderful summer project. >>> You can shop the full Wonderart Stitchcraft collection HERE <<<

She completed the entire embroidery herself and even filmed the process for a fun little reel!

These beginner-friendly kits are designed for anyone who wants to learn embroidery or cross stitch without having to gather supplies separately. Everything you need comes right in the package, making them a fun gift or weekend craft.
The design Zoe stitched is called Shining Bright, featuring the happiest little sunshine with embroidered rays and cheerful yellow accents. She did an amazing job bringing it to life!

She has just one final step left…trimming the excess fabric and gathering it neatly behind the embroidery hoop so it’s ready to display.

The Wonderart Stitchcraft collection currently includes six different beginner-friendly designs, each with its own modern, colorful style. Whether you’re new to embroidery or looking for a relaxing creative project, these kits are a great place to start.
If you’ve been wanting to try embroidery, this is such an easy and approachable way to begin. I love that it gave Zoe another creative outlet while still enjoying fiber arts.

Have you ever tried embroidery? I’d love to know if you’re a cross stitcher, an embroiderer, a crocheter or maybe all three! It’s always fun to discover a new creative hobby, and I have a feeling this won’t be Zoe’s last embroidery project.
