I am so excited to announce that I have been featured in the December 2012 issue of Woman’s Day Magazine!! It was such an amazing experience and I would love to share a little bit about it with you
About 6 months ago, I received an e-mail from Woman’s Day saying they had come across my DIY Gift Wrap Station (on Pinterest) and would love to feature it in their “Organize It” section of their December (holiday) issue. For those of you who are new to my blog, I made a Gift Wrap Station during one of the final rounds of a craft competition called One Crafty Contest. The craft contest was hosted by the fabulous Amy Latta of One Artsy Mama. I owe a big THANK YOU to Amy because if it weren’t for her contest, I may have never made this gift wrap station!
With butterflies in my stomach, I immediately wrote Woman’s Day back with a big YES, of course I would love to be featured in your magazine!! The e-mail was followed up by a several phone conversations where I was interviewed and then was told a photographer and hair/make-up artist would be coming to my house to take pictures of me and my gift wrap station. WHAT?! OMG! All of this for little old me? I seriously had to pinch myself Of course I was on cloud nine on photoshoot day. I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful photographer, Edmund Barr of Edmund Barr Photography and his crew and the most amazing hair and make-up artist, Celena Rubin of Art of Makeup. I actually ended up using Celena a second time because I liked her so much! And of course the creative directors and editors at Woman’s Day magazine were wonderful as well. I feel so grateful to them and am blessed to have had this opportunity!
I received a copy of the magazine about a week before it hit stores. I held my breathe as I opened it up and my jaw dropped when I saw that I had a huge picture in the table of contents! EEEK! And then I was absolutely stunned to see that I was not only on page 54, but also on page 58, and 59! When I started this blog I never imagined that I would make it into a nationally syndicated magazine! Although I did not get paid to be in the magazine, nor do I get paid for blogging, I am so thankful for all the wonderful people and experiences that have come my way since I started Repeat Crafter Me just over a year ago
