Yarnspirations has released a new lookbook in celebration of 100 years of Caron yarn! The Caron Collection is FREE and full of 20 adorable crochet and knit hat patterns! I had fun crocheting the Koala-ty Hat but took the pattern a step further: I used the koala pieces and transformed it into a bear – same pattern, different animal! With so many color choices in the Caron Simply Soft line, you could definitely make other animals as well (how about a Panda?!). My daughter Zoe is modeling both versions in the pictures below. Which do you like better, Koala or Bear?! How about making both!

This truly is a simple pattern worked in mostly SC stitches. Great for a beginner crocheter! And how cute are those pom-pom ears?! Such a fun embellishment! Hat pattern comes in sizes Toddler-Adult.

1. I made an extra round on the koala nose of 2 HDC in each stitch around.
2. Use one koala eye as the bear nose (no pattern changes)
3. Stop after first round of koala eyes (magic ring round) for the bear eyes.

I think I like the bear hat best. Your daughter looks really cute in them! 🙂
Both hats are really cute but the bear hat is the one that I like best.Your website is my favorite go to crochet website. You are so talented.God bless.
I like the brown bear. So cute.
love the koala one and your daughter did a great job of modelling both she looks so cute in them
Love them both… have to new babies on the way (great nieces/nephews?)… Love that either way they will love them.
Hi! I’m a beginner in crochet. I love everything in your blog especially your works are very generous for free patterns!!,by any means could you make a crocheted lion pattern hat? thank you
how do i enter to win the free yarn from caron?
I really love the Koala on your daughter. That color looks so beautiful with her hair, skin and eyes. Its funny, I have 4 skeins of this yarn in gorgeous colors. But I’ve disliked it for everything I’ve tried to make. It’s just not stretchy enough for my taste. This pattern might just change my mind. The instructions are confusing. Is it just a single crochet after you get through the increases?
When I click on the link to the pattern it takes me to a 404 error page 🙁
Where can I get/buy the Koala-ty pattern?
I love that it’s single crochets which will be warmer than HDC or DC.
Giveaways like this are such a fun part of the crafting world because they bring together creativity, color, and that little spark of excitement when you imagine what you could make next. The koala hat is absolutely adorable, and projects like this always remind me how handmade things carry extra personality. I still think yarn crafts have a special kind of comfort to them, probably because they turn quiet time into something warm and cheerful. I was browsing https://shein.pissedconsumer.com/review.html earlier, and it made me think how people always enjoy finding something cute that feels expressive. A playful hat like this has that same charm, sweet, creative, and memorable.
