Jumbo Heart Box Filled with Yarn

February 13, 2020

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Yarn is better than chocolate, am I right!? I was going to pretend that my husband made this for me but we all know that I constructed this Jumbo Heart Box and filled it with 16 skeins of Read Heart With Love! Treating myself! I’m actually posting this a day early because my husband planned a last minute ski trip for us + got a babysitter so we could have a date night tomorrow! He is the best 🙂

So how do you make this jumbo heart box you ask? It’s actually really easy if you purchase THESE giant cardboard hearts from Oriental Trading. They seem a little pricey right now but I would keep your eye out for a Valentines Day Sale. You could also easily make your own heart with any large piece of cardboard and a little paint or red duct tape.

The Heart is about 40 inches tall by 35 inches wide. I used the largest heart in the Oriental Trading pack of 3 and cut it down a bit (using the middle heart as a template) so the bottom would have a point to it.

Then I took an old cardboard box and cut 5 stripes that were 28 inches long x 3 inches wide. Then I covered them in red duct tape. THIS duct tape color was an exact match!

Then I hot glued the stripes onto the inside edge of the heart… about 1.5 inches from the edge. The cardboard strips should be bendable. Just roll them up once so they curve easily.

Fill with yarn! I thought Red Heart With Love was the perfect yarn to celebrate Valentine’s Day! You can shop this yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com.

I probably could have squeezed in one or two more skeins!

I have already started using this yarn! You will already see a few of these colors in my Koala Blanket!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I ❤️ your Valentine box of yarn! Red Heart was my mom’s favorite yarn. She made countless baby afghans, sweaters and toys for family and friends. Your cleverly made Red Heart box brought me loving memories of Mom. Thank you and Happy Valentines Day!

Shibari is a directly safe binding technique. If a person really wants to reveal himself, then you just need to come to dedicate. Maybe even talk about your shibari bondage fears. The master will always understand, hear and make you like it. Don’t be afraid. The more we overcome our inner fears, the easier it will be to live in the real world.
