Elf on the Shelf Crochet Face Mask

November 8, 2020

Is your Elf on the Shelf or Mensch on the Bench coming out of quarantine?! Do they need to stay 6 feet apart?! Let’s have some fun and get creative this 2020 holiday season! I crocheted tiny little face masks for our two Elf’s and our Mensch on the Bench as well!

I based the mini masks off of THIS versatile crochet face mask pattern from Yarnspirations.

You don’t always have to make these crochet masks for personal use. I crocheted a few for my Crochet Cute Critters to wear

and this past Halloween I made some festive themed designs. Now you can make one for your Elf too!

I am using Caron Simply Soft yarn and a size G hook.

Elf on the Shelf Face Mask:
Chain 10, Slip stitch in second chain from hook and next chain, SC in next 5, slip stitch in last two chains, chain 1, turn
Row 2-5 (or more/less rows if desired): in back loops only, slip stitch in first two, SC in next 5, slip stitch in last two, chain 1, turn
fasten off leaving long tails to tie onto elf’s head.
You can add in an extra strand of yarn to one side of the mask with a tapestry needle.

Here is a video tutorial:

Mensch on the Bench Face Mask:
Chain 19, slip stitch in second chain from hook and in next 4, SC in next 8, slip stitch in last 5, chain 1, turn
Row 2-7 (or more rows if desired): in back loops only, slip stitch in first 5, SC in next 8, slip stitch in last 5, chain 1, turn
fasten off leaving long tails to tie onto the Rabbi’s head.
You can add in an extra strand of yarn to one side of the mask with a tapestry needle.
