Welcome to week 1 of our Tuna the Cat and Bones the Dog Toy Duo Crochet-Along! And look who has come to join in on the merriment: It’s jolly cousin JINGLES the Dog! He couldn’t miss out on any of the fun of this easy 3 week crochet-along. Jingles is here to show you that you can choose any colors from the Red Heart Super Saver line of yarn to crochet your Cat and Dog stuffies. Dress them up for the season! I will be showing you how to crochet this cat and dog using ONE PATTERN and just by changing the ears, you get two different animals!

Welcome to Lesson 1 of the Tuna & Bones Toy Duo Crochet Along, hosted by (me) Sarah Zimmerman from Repeat Crafter Me! This week we’re building the base of our new furry friends by creating their head and body, plus adding some character to their little faces.

The head / body is worked in one piece from the bottom up, beginning with a magic loop. You’ll build the shape upward through a series of increases and decreases in the round. Now is a great time to start adding your polyfill to the form to give the bottom some structure. Our animals start to take shape as we learn to create the snout, add whiskers, and attach the safety eyes and nose before closing the top

If you want to make Jingles the Dog, I used Red Heart Super Saver in colors Spring Green and Soft White. The Santa hat is made from my Mini Holiday Hats Pattern and I attached THESE BELLS on his collar (collar pattern will be posted in Lesson 3). The red safety nose can be found HERE on Amazon.
