Baby Chick Crochet Cups

February 22, 2024

My popular Crochet Cups are coming to you in some new designs! The baby chick and the hatching baby chick cups are perfect the spring season and they will have several seasonal friends joining them in the next few days.

If you aren’t familiar with these crochet cups, it all started with my >>> BUNNY CUPS <<< which were made for holding a few small candy (or non-candy) treats! So easy to work up and great for Easter gift giving. Kids, teachers, neighbors, and friends will all love these!

Materials:
-Size K Crochet Hook
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in White and Saffron Yellow
Shop these colors HERE on Yarnspirations.com
– Strand of pumpkin orange yarn for nose
– Large Tapestry Needle
– Two black safety eyes (I used oval noses for the eyes, get them HERE)

Finished Size: Approximately 4 inches wide (3 inches wide at bottom) and 3.5 inches tall

Use a double strand of yarn when crocheting (two strands held together)

Hatching Chick Crochet Cup:

Round 6: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 7: *SC in first 2, HDC in next, 3 DC in next, HDC, SC, repeat from * around,

Round 8: Slip stitch in back loops of each stitch, when you get to the 3 DC all in one stitch, only make a slip stitch in the middle DC (skip over the DC on either side of it), join, chain 1 (24 slip stitches)
Round 9: In back loops of slip stitch, SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (24 SC)

At the end of round 11, in the last stitch where your join is, chain 6 + slip stitch back to edge of cup + chain 8 + slip stitch + chain 6 and slip stitch to make 3 little loops that look like feathers.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With a strand of orange yarn and your tapestry needle, loop yarn about 4 times around two stitches between rounds 9 and 10 on the front of the cup to create a little beak nose.

Add two black safety eyes (I used oval eyes) on either side of nose, one stitch up.

My goodness, those crafts look incredible. By the way, I saw similar items in the Marshall Islands when I was on vacation there. Maybe they were made by you? Such a cool place to relax and rest your mind and body from the hustle and bustle of the Kammen jungle. There I learned that it is possible to run your own business in this region. There are all the conditions for it. And I decided to open my first company during my vacation. marshall islands company registration passed without any problems and special efforts. But it was still an unforgettable vacation.

After the breakup, I hesitated for a long time to meet new people – somehow nothing worked out. A friend advised me to try a special website https://www.dateslocator.com , saying that it was easy to communicate there, without pressure. I registered and started corresponding with a girl who turned out to be on the same wavelength as me. A week later, we met in person – and now we’ve been together for a month. I didn’t expect it to really work, but now I recommend it to my friends.

This is adorable! My niece loves little crochet creatures. I might actually try making this for her Easter basket. It looks like a fun project! By the way, have you ever tried the Suika Game? It’s a surprisingly addictive puzzle game where you merge fruits! It’s super relaxing and a great way to unwind after a crafting session.
