It’s Spring! And the cherry blossom trees are in bloom all across the city. They are beautiful and hold a special place in my heart because my husband and I had a Spring wedding and incorporated cherry blossoms into our wedding decor. I came up with a very simple pattern for a five petal flower that I am calling cherry blossoms but you can use how you wish 🙂
Materials:
– Size G crochet hook
– Worsted weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Pink.
– Dark pink button for the center
– Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
Magic Ring Tutorial
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
Cherry Blossom Pattern:
If you don’t want to use a button for the center, you can make your magic ring round using a different color (like dark pink or white).
Magic ring, chain 1, make 10 SC in ring, join to the first SC,
Round 2: Chain 5, *DC in 3rd chain from hook, DC in next chain, HDC in last, skip a stitch, slip stitch in next stitch, chain 5, repeat from *.
You should have five petals.
Fasten off leaving tail.

Sew button to the middle of flower.
Magic ring (plus your first chain 5)
Beginning of round 2 and what your petals should look like
When you are finished your petals may curl in like this
Pinch two sides of each petal and STRETCH.
Now you have a sweet little blossom 🙂 My petals did not curl back in after stretching of the yarn.
Happy Spring!
