My 3 year old and I had a fun little craft date yesterday morning. We made ballerinas out of pipe cleaners and cupcake liners! And everyone was excited about the Elsa and Anna versions since Frozen is a popular movie in our house… and I’m sure it is in yours as well 🙂
These cute little ballerinas are so simple to make a great craft to do with kids of all ages!
You will need:
– Pipe cleaners (also called fuzzy sticks). I got mine at Craftprojectideas.com
– Cupcake liners or Coffee filters
– Watercolor paints
– Yarn for hair
Fold your cupcake liners in half and paint them with your watercolors. Let dry.
Take one pipe cleaner and create a loop at the top for the head. Poke through the middle of your cupcake liner.
Fold the bottom into an upside down heart shape.
Pinch to shape it into ballerina feet.
Cut a piece of another pipe cleaner off and curve ends to make arms.
Twist it around the middle of the ballerina body.
Cut 5-10 strands of yarn. Fold in half and loop through the head like in the picture below.
Pull tight and style!
Get creative! Use different colors and experiment with different hair styles. Have fun!
