Love Button Crochet Hat

I love the combination of yarn, buttons, and felt! And a little of all three went into this Love Button Hat 🙂 Use this pattern and design as a inspiration for your own creation! I ordered the Alphabet buttons from Amazon and I think they are adorable but in full disclosure the package that was sent to me didn’t have any R’s or B’s… which kinda limits the word possibilities. They are about 3/4 in tall and come in pastel and dark pastel colors. Link to primary colored alphabet letters are below as well. Those ones are slightly larger.

Materials:

– Worsted Weight Yarn. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Lime, Aqua, Pink, and Beige.

– Small piece of felt for the heart.

– Alphabet Buttons

– Tapestry needle

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

Crochet Beanie:

CHANGE COLORS EVERY 3-4 ROWS!

Note: I decided to make a couple rows of single crochets along the bottom using a 4th color. If you want to do the same, change color on your last row and make two or three rows of Single Crochet’s instead of one row of Double Crochets.

Size: 0-3 Months

Magic ring, 11 DC in magic ring, join to first DC, chain 2

Round 2: 2 DC in each around, join, chain 2 (22 DC)

Round 3: 2 DC in first, DC in next, repeat around, join, chain 2 (33 DC)

Round 4: 2 DC in first, DC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 2 (44 DC)

Round 5-10: DC in each around, join, chain 2 (44 DC)

fasten off, weave in ends.

Size: 3-6 Months

Cut a heart from felt. I printed out THIS ONE and used it as a template. Sew it onto middle stripe of hat.

Attach “LOVE” buttons on hat under the felt heart.
