After I made the Child’s Caron Chill Time Cardigan for Zoe, I had the urge to make one for myself! The Cardigans are a free pattern in the Yarnspirations Stitchflix Season 2 lookbook and come in sizes for both children and adult so it was only right to make a Mother/Daughter matching set! Both cardigans use Caron Simply Soft Yarn. Zoe’s is in color Country Peach and mine is Persimmon!

Here are some notes about my version of the pattern:
I decided to crochet both cardigans using HDC stitches instead of the front-post/back-post stitches it calls for. I followed the size 4 pattern for the Child and the Size Small for the adult exactly as written but after I got past the ribbing, I went straight into rows of HDCs. It’s actually very easy to just continue to work in HDC rows and refer to the graphs that go along with the pattern for the measurements as to how tall each piece needs to be.
To try and simplify this cardigan for you, it is made in 5 different pieces:
1 back piece
2 front pieces with pockets
And 2 sleeves.
The picture below shows one sleeve laying flat and the other sleeve when it is stitched up.
Here is time-lapse video of me stitching the pieces together. The ribbing along the neck and front edges is done last.
Edit to add: something has gone wrong with my video uploader. Please feel free to view the time-lapse video HERE on my Repeat Crafter Me Facebook page while I work on getting it fixed!
I love sweater weather and this Cardigan is my new favorite addition to my Fall wardrobe! Plus it’s an easy and fun wearable that you can work on while watching your favorite Netflix show!
I hope you decide to make one too. If you do please tag @RepeatCrafterMe and @Yarnspirations on social media using the hashtags #RepeatCrafterMe #Yarnspirations #StitchflixSeason2 #CaronChillTimeCardigan in your social media posts!!

Well I will be trying the hdc stitch instead of what the pattern calls for. I’ve fought with it way to long! I have some CSS in Autumn Red that I’ve been trying to find the perfect pattern to use it on and this is perfect. But the hdc/dcfp stitch has been causing it to be all wavy. So not happy with it.

I’ve never made myself a sweater, I’ve made many baby sweaters but never have felt confident to try one for me. Looking at all your pics of the construction of this sweater, I think I could do this. I love the color of yours and the ribbing at the bottom and the pockets. I went to the adult pattern but am confused, the sweater they show there is not what is on your website. That sweater looks like the rows are going north/south while your rows are crocheted east/west. ??
