Halloween Porch Goose C2C Crochet Panel

September 3, 2026

I’m starting a new C2C project and I thought why wait until it’s finished to share it?!

Porch geese are everywhere right now, and of course I had to turn one into a C2C crochet graph! I’m starting with this Halloween witch goose, complete with her witch hat, cape and pumpkin trick-or-treat bucket.

This is very much a work in progress, but since C2C blankets take some time, I wanted to share the graph now in case you’d like to crochet along with me!

My original idea was to create four skinny porch goose panels for different holidays, but I’m already changing my mind a little. Instead, I’m thinking this Halloween goose might become the feature panel of its own Halloween blanket, with simpler coordinating panels added alongside it.

I’ll keep updating this post as I crochet with progress photos, yarn colors, construction details and, eventually, the finished blanket. For now, you can find the Halloween Porch Goose graph below and get started with me!

I’m using worsted weight yarn in the following colors:

  • Background: Red Heart With Love in Tangerine*
  • Cape: Red Heart Super Saver in Black
  • Pumpkin Bucket: Red Heart Super Saver in Pumpkin
  • Goose: Red Heart Super Saver in White
  • Hat Band & Cape Tie: Red Heart Super Saver in Medium Purple or Lavender
  • Feet, Beak & Hat Buckle: Red Heart Super Saver in Saffron

*I’m using Red Heart With Love in Tangerine for my background because I already had it in my stash. It looks like this color has since moved over to the Red Heart Soft line. While I love the orange background, once I started crocheting I noticed that the Tangerine and Saffron are fairly similar in color value. I’m not going to start over, but if I were choosing my colors again, I might go with a deeper or more rustic orange for a little more contrast. Red Heart Super Saver in Carrot would be a great option!

If you’re new to Corner-to-Corner (C2C) crochet, it’s a fun and highly addictive technique that turns pixel-style graphs into beautiful textured crochet pieces. You’ll start in one corner of the design (typically the lower right) and work diagonally in rows toward the opposite corner. Each pixel square represents one block made up of a chain 2 + 3 half double crochets (HDC). I prefer using HDC instead of double crochet for a slightly tighter, neater stitch. C2C is a great way to bring character designs, icons, and seasonal motifs to life!

Before you get started, below is a Corner-to-Corner Video Tutorial if you need some help with the technique:

And don’t worry, I won’t leave you hanging with an unfinished project! I’ll be updating this post as I go with lots of progress photos, tips, and anything I learn along the way. My plan is to turn this skinny Porch Goose panel into a complete Halloween blanket using coordinating solid panels, and when it’s finished, the full blanket tutorial will be added right here. Of course, you can also stop at the goose panel and turn it into a fun Halloween wall hanging! I hope you’ll crochet along with me!
