It’s finished! Here is the completed Earth Day Crochet Quiet Book! There are a total of 10 crocheted pages that feature nature-themed appliques coordinating with numbers 1 through 10. Let’s go through each one! Click on the highlight text to get the pattern for each page. The finished size is approximately 9 x 9 and 4 inches thick!
1 Earth

Each of these pages uses various colors of Bernat Super Value yarn. Did you know that there are over 50 shades to choose from on Yarnspirations.com?! Here is the complete list of all the colors I used (not all are pictured).
Shop all the colors HERE!
Bernat Super Value:
Oatmeal, Lush Green, Hot Blue, Sky Blue, Taupe, Pumpkin, Yellow, Navy, Denim Heather, Steel Blue, White, Soft Fern, Aqua, Bright Yellow, Rouge, Berry Red, Peacock Blue, Light Damson, Heather Gray, Peach, Natural, Mushroom, and Cool Blue

Once you have crocheted the pages, you will need to connect them all together. I have made a short video explaining what I did.
You will want to place all the pages in order and back to back. I single crocheted along the spine of two pages at a time, starting with 3 SC and then a chain 1 + skipping a stitch, then 3 more SC stitches, repeating all the way down the spine. This gives you 8 chain spaces to attach your pages together. I ended up hot gluing each back to back page together. You can stitch them together or leave as is! You can also use fabric glue if hot glue makes you uncomfortable. Once you have crocheted along the spine of all 5 pieces (remember your pages are back to back), you can use book rings to link them together. Alternatively you can use use yarn to tie them together. Get creative and let me know what you come up with!

I found my book rings at Hobby Lobby (online HERE) and you can find similar ones on Amazon HERE.

Here is a video of me reading the book!

Super cute!
I think it that it is a good project for mother & daughter or grandmother & granddaughter.
This is adorable! I might have to crochet one for my niece. š
Thank You! Time for me to get busy with the hook!
Thank you, this is wonderful! I’d like to make both the book and a blanket. Love it!
Do you crochet along all the edges of the pages, or just along the edge where you put them together?
this is super freaking adorable! I love it!!
This is so clever! Iām definitely making this for my new granddaughter!
The only thing I would change: there are 7 colors in the rainbow. ROY G BIV.
Iām switching the raindrops to 6.
Thank you for this lovely idea.
I love this!! Thank you for the pattern!

Do you have a printer friendly version of the pattern(s)? Trying to print from the article with all the pictures and ads is far too difficult.
I use Print Friendly to print from most blogs. http://www.printfriendly.com Then I use it to take out all the ads before I save it as a pdf.
Such an amazing idea!! Can finished product be sold with credit back to you?
Beautiful .
Mine is done!!!! Great pattern(s)! Great instructions! I took a few liberties, but followed it for the most part. I replaced Earth with a butterfly. I replaced the recycle arrows on “10” with a little flower. My flower on 5 puckered, so I went with the flow and actually stuffed it a little for a 3D effect. Thank you so much for this pattern!
I found this Earth Day Crochet Quiet Book very informative and interesting. Hope to read more books like this one. Thanks!
Could you please suggest any yarn substitute brands? I can’t get Bernat here in the UK

Hi there
I love the book and plan to start making it as a gift for our god daughters upcoming birthday. I’m unable to get hold of Bernat in the UK at the moment so plan on using a different brand yarn. Could you possibly tell me how much yarn you used for each of the squares? I can only get hold of 100g balls so just need to work out if how many balls of each colour i’ll need? I plan on using my left overs for the page decorations. I hope this makes sense.

Very nice! Personally, I would add an indigo stripe to the rainbow to make it more realistic, but cute nonetheless. š
Really great! Thank you so much for sharing this pattern!
