I really like your hat patterns but have always been concerned about the ties. Ties were removed from children’s hoodies because they posed a danger when getting caught on things. I generally leave the ties off or make them shorter than you recommend. For my next hat I am going to make a chin strap instead with a button on one side.

if you multiply the number of stitches at the widest part by the gauge, you can determine the circumference. EG: 60 stitches. gauge is 15 st to 4 inches. 60 divided by 15 equal 4 x 4 inches equals 16 inch circumference.

Why don’t you give the measurements in inches instead of rows.
The pattern says to make 2 eyes but never mention the one for the NOSE!
