You MUST get your hands on the new Red Heart All in One Granny Square Yarn! This yarn does all the color work for you with pre-set color lengths that change with each round of your granny square. I first made these super easy crochet granny square tree ornaments over Christmas and now I’m bringing you a new project that only require ONE BALL of this granny square yarn!
You can make 3 pairs of fingerless gloves/mittens in 3 different sizes with just 1 skein of Red Heart All in One Granny Square yarn!
They are sizes Small, Medium, and Large. The medium fits me with plenty of room (I am and adult x-small – very petit/short hands) so these would be good for an older child/teen. The small fits my 10yo daughter who is small for her age so I’d say these could fit most elementary age kids. The large will definitely fit an adult!
Shop all the shades of Granny Square yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com. I am using the colors “Hot Stuff” which is perfect for Valetine’s Day and the color “Frigid” which is perfect for the winter season!
The yarn is built to make a 5 round granny square but you can stop at any round after round 2 and then SAVE the yarn bits from the rounds you don’t crochet to create the fingerless gloves!
You will need to make 4 squares for each pair of gloves.
4 granny squares that stop after round 3
4 granny squares that stop after round 4
4 granny squares that stop after round 5
SAVE all the extra yarn that isn’t used.
The pattern for the granny squares is on the back of each label. Or you can use whichever 3 DC granny square pattern you feel comfortable with.

Sandwich the mitts together and then start by connecting the top with two rounds of singles crochets.
I am working in the back loops only. You don’t want to close the top so go ahead and start by joining corners with a single crochet and then single crocheting along the edges, joining the other corner and back around to join to the first SC.
Now let’s make the ribbing for the wrists.
In the bottom, join two of the corners and chain 8. SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down the chain. Slip stitch in two stitches along the edge, turn, and SC in back loops only along the ribbing. Continue until you’ve worked around the entire bottom opening.
Next up is the thumb hole!
Join in remaining yarn about 3 or 4 stitches down from the top of the glove. SC in 4-5 stitches along both sides of granny squares. Remember that we are working in back loops only. Make one more round of SC along the thumb hole, fasten off and close sides of mitts with extra yarn strands.
I flipped the gloves inside out and used a basic whip stitch to stitch together side edges.
Make them in all the colors! Check out all the colors of Red Heart All in One Granny Square Yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com.
