Summer is starting to wind down and a lot of kids will be starting school in the next couple of weeks! Mine don’t go back until September but I know a lot of yours will be starting in mid August. So I am sharing this “sweet” back to school teacher appreciation gift with you now, before it’s too late! Gone are the days of bringing the teacher an apple. I wanted to send my kids to school with something a little different, a little more crafty and creative 🙂
I came up with this printable that says “Thank you for BEEing my teacher” on the front and “Looking forward to a sweet year with you!” on the back with a picture of a bumble bee and flower. You will add a button to the center of the flower and tie it on a with a piece of ribbon. The back of the ribbon will hold honey sticks! You can buy honey sticks at local farmers markets and farm stores. Maybe even at some grocery stores.
You can download the Printable PDF file here:
You will want to print this on card stock paper (well, you don’t have to, but it would work better on a heavier stock). Print one side then flip the paper over and print the back on the other side. Although you don’t have to print out the back, you can always write it in or add your own message.
Now cut out your cards.
Find a two hole button that is about 1″ wide. Poke holes (with scissors or a needle) on the card where the flower will be. Thread a piece of ribbon through the button and through the holes. On the backside you will use the ribbon to tie on your honey sticks.
Fill in the “To” and “From” areas and you’re done!
If you don’t get around to making this now, BEE sure to save this idea for Teacher Appreciation week or for an end of the year gift. I hope all of you have a wonderful school year!
