Here is the 2nd page in my Earth Day Crochet Quiet Book: 2 Birds!
This page features two cute little chirping birds perched on a branch. You might recognize these little birdies. They are the Nightingales from my Animal Alphabet Applique series!
I am making an Earth Day Crochet Counting Quiet Book! It will have a total of 10 pages and I will be posting each page separately in a series of 10 blog posts and then one final post to showcase the whole book and how to put it together. They will all be posted in time for Earth Day on April 22nd!
You can also use these “pages” as granny squares and create a blanket instead!
I am using Bernat Super Value because of it’s wide range of colors (53 colors to choose from!) and because its a very sturdy worsted weight yarn. You will want to start shopping and stocking up HERE at Yarnspirations.com.
Materials:
– Bernat Super Value in Sky Blue, Taupe Brown, Oatmeal (Cream), Pumpkin Orange, Lush Green, and a bit of yellow for the beaks.
Shop all colors HERE.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
Crochet Book Page:
with sky blue color yarn
Chain 31, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (30 SC)
Row 2-35: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Fasten off and weave in ends.
First you will want to make the book “page” or the background square (whichever you want to refer to it as). The dimensions of each square are approximately 9×9 (actually mine is more like 8.75 x 8.75) which is a great size for a granny square or book page!
Branch:
With brown yarn
Chain 31, Slip Stitch in 2nd chain from hook, SC in next 9, HDC in next 6, 2 HDC in next, HDC in next, DC in last 11, fasten off leaving long tail to stitch branch onto crocheted page.
Bird Applique (Make 2):
You can find the Bird pattern and photo tutorial HERE
Leaves (make two):
NOTE: use different hook sizes to make larger or smaller leaves.
You can find the Leaf pattern and tutorial HERE
Number 2:
Chain 18 and shape in number 2.
Stitch all of your pieces onto the crocheted page using your tapestry needle.
Have you made the first book page? You can find Page 1: 1 Earth HERE!

I followed the link to the N is for Nightingale: Crochet Nightingale Bird Applique, printed it and filed it until I was ready to use the pattern. I should note that we do not own a color printer. Imagine my surprise as I am finishing up my first bird today to find out that the colors are reversed, as far as dark and light from the birds in the book illustration. I worked “hard” to figure out Round 3 because I wasn’t sure how to SC over the DC and then I had to look up how to do a triple crochet since I haven’t seen that in a pattern before. My bird is beautiful and I am not going to change it. I was just surprised at the difference. I really enjoyed the challenge of the bird pattern. It was simple and yet makes you look at it and wonder how it was stitched to achieve that final form.

I really like this crochet birds! It’s a great job and I would save money for this rather than spend it for essays like https://www.aresearchguide.com/pay-for-essays-online.html or something like that. But still, education is a very important thing for me.

Hi, it’s an incredible job doing this craft, I know firsthand, I’ve been doing this myself for several years. Thank you very much for this post, abstracts, pictures and recommendations, I will give my friend some information. I recommend The Yellow Wallpaper Essays in this one on my own, I believe that you should be interested in it and, moreover, will like it. Sit back and read in the free about Feminist Criticism in Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper”, Symbolizing the Control of Women in the Yellow Wallpaper and more, good luck!
