Halloween Porch Goose C2C Crochet Panel

September 3, 2026

I’m starting a new C2C project and I thought why wait until it’s finished to share it?!

Porch geese are everywhere right now, and of course I had to turn one into a C2C crochet graph! I’m starting with this Halloween witch goose, complete with her witch hat, cape and pumpkin trick-or-treat bucket.

I’ll keep updating this post as I crochet with progress photos, yarn colors, construction details and, eventually, the finished blanket. For now, you can find the Halloween Porch Goose graph below and get started with me!

UPDATE: The Halloween Porch Goose Panel is Finished!

My first Porch Goose C2C panel is officially complete! The finished panel measures approximately 15 inches wide × 51 inches tall, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

I especially love the little details in this one. The oversized witch hat, purple accents and, of course, that jack-o’-lantern trick-or-treat bucket! I think the pumpkin bucket might be one of my favorite parts of the entire design. In fact, I love it so much that I’m already thinking it deserves to make an appearance in a pumpkin project of its own!

And now I’m REALLY excited to see this idea come together. The plan is to make four Porch Goose C2C panels, each measuring the same size and featuring a goose dressed for a different holiday. Once all four are finished, I’ll join them side-by-side to create one big Porch Goose blanket!

Of course, you don’t have to make all four. Hang it vertically on a wall or door for a fun, oversized Halloween decoration. It’s almost floor-to-ceiling crochet decor! Add a simple hanging loop or dowel at the top and you have a giant seasonal banner you can bring out year after year.

I’ll continue adding each new Porch Goose panel, graphs, written color patterns and all the joining and border details as the project progresses.

Here are two ways to follow the graph:

Hook: Size H (5.0 mm)

Yarn: I’m using worsted weight yarn in the following colors:

  • Background: Red Heart With Love in Tangerine*
  • Cape: Red Heart Super Saver in Black
  • Pumpkin Bucket: Red Heart Super Saver in Carrot Orange (or you could use Pumpkin)
  • Bucket Handle: Cafe Latte Brown
  • Goose: Red Heart Super Saver in White
  • Hat Band & Cape Tie: Red Heart Super Saver in Medium Purple or Lavender
  • Feet, Beak & Hat Buckle: Red Heart Super Saver in Saffron

*I’m using Red Heart With Love in Tangerine for my background because I already had it in my stash. It looks like this color has since moved over to the Red Heart Soft line. While I love the orange background, once I started crocheting I noticed that the Tangerine and Saffron are fairly similar in color value. I’m not going to start over, but if I were choosing my colors again, I might go with a deeper or more rustic orange for a little more contrast. Red Heart Super Saver in Carrot would be a great option!

If you’re new to Corner-to-Corner (C2C) crochet, it’s a fun and highly addictive technique that turns pixel-style graphs into beautiful textured crochet pieces. You’ll start in one corner of the design (typically the lower right) and work diagonally in rows toward the opposite corner. Each pixel square represents one block made up of a chain 2 + 3 half double crochets (HDC). I prefer using HDC instead of double crochet for a slightly tighter, neater stitch. C2C is a great way to bring character designs, icons, and seasonal motifs to life!

Before you get started, below is a Corner-to-Corner Video Tutorial if you need some help with the technique:

C2C is completely reversible! The backside is a mirror image of the front.

And don’t worry, I won’t leave you hanging with an unfinished project! I’ll be updating this post as I go with lots of progress photos, tips, and anything I learn along the way. My plan is to turn this skinny Porch Goose panel into a complete Halloween blanket using coordinating solid panels, and when it’s finished, the full blanket tutorial will be added right here. Of course, you can also stop at the goose panel and turn it into a fun Halloween wall hanging! I hope you’ll crochet along with me!

This Halloween porch goose panel is such a fun idea! I really like how the C2C crochet technique gives the design a clean, pixel-art look while still keeping that cozy handmade feel. It would be a cute addition to a seasonal porch display, especially for anyone who enjoys making themed crochet decorations.

The witch hat, cape, and little pumpkin bucket are adorable, and the idea of eventually joining four holiday geese into one big blanket sounds even better. Already planning to grab the free graph and start with the Halloween one.

Your witch hat perched on the goose’s head brings spooky flair, and the pumpkin bucket cleverly nods to trick‑or‑treat tradition. Pivoting from four skinny panels to a single Halloween feature panel shows smart streamlining for impact. It reminds me of how local artisans collaborate, much like Franklin Ohio Community initiatives that bring people together around craft. I’ll follow along and look forward to the final stitch count.

This is such a fun way to bring a little personality to Halloween decorating. I especially like the idea of using a crochet panel on the porch rather than relying on the usual store-bought decorations. It would be interesting to see how the design looks with different color combinations.

The Halloween Porch Goose C2C Crochet Panel is such a fun seasonal design, especially for adding a handmade touch to porch decor. I really like how the goose theme gives the project a playful Halloween feel without being too complicated. For anyone who enjoys researching useful information alongside creative hobbies, Entity Lookup Guide can also be a helpful resource. The design looks like a great project for crocheters who enjoy festive decorations.

Such an adorable Halloween goose! Switching to the Carrot orange for the pumpkin bucket was definitely the right call—the details look super crisp. Can’t wait to see the rest of the seasonal panels!

The note about Tangerine and Saffron having similar color values is really helpful. A deeper orange background sounds like a practical way to make the beak and feet stand out.

Love the idea of sharing the C2C graph early — that witch hat and pumpkin bucket are perfect for the season! If you ever add a little soundtrack to your crafting, turning lyrics into songs could make porch goose time even more fun.
