Crochet Koala Blanket

February 20, 2020

I had to post the finished Koala Blanket! It is very similar to my Sloth Blanket. The koala appliqué was actually based on the sloth. I changed a few things on the head pattern to transform it from one animal to the other! The blanket is my Moss Stitch in a Square pattern which is such a simple and sweet pattern that can be made as small or large as you want. Plus the color combinations are endless!

I am using Red Heart With Love yarn for this project and it is an absolute dream to work with! Softer and smoother than Red Heart Super Saver but with the same thickness. I love the way it works up!

You can now shop Red Heart With Love yarn RIGHT HERE on Yarnspirations.com

Materials:
– Red Heart With Love in colors Iced Aqua, Eggshell, Tan, and Pewter. You will need one skein of each for this blanket. If you plan to make it bigger, you will need two skeins.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

Finished Size is 30 x 30 inches.
Continue the rounds using the moss stitch to make it bigger!

You can find the Koala Appliqué Pattern HERE

You can find the pattern for my Moss Stitch in a Square Blanket HERE. The color sequence is as follows:

25 Rounds of Eggshell White
4 Rounds of Aqua Blue
8 Rounds of Pewter
4 Rounds of Aqua Blue
3 Rounds of Eggshell
2 Rounds of Tan
3 Rounds of Eggshell
4 Rounds of Aqua
8 Rounds of Petwer

Make 4 Tassels in Aqua for the corners! No border needed!

Sending love to our friends in Australia who have been affected by the bushfires. The proceeds from the Koala Appliqué will be donated to a charity to help the Koalas.

I love the idea of a moss stitch blanket in the round. For this blanket did you join at the end of the rounds or just continue without joining?

The scarf is very beautiful, the knitting needles are delicate. I really like this scarf.
