I made a set of Fall themed crochet squares this week and decided to stitch them together to make a 16×16 pillow! I used a joining technique called the zigzag slip stitch and I love the way it turned out! These Autumn granny squares include a Pumpkin, Scarecrow, Sunflower, and Acorn which would make a beautiful blanket as well. Especially if you paired them with solid color crochet squares. Lots of possibilities and designs to think about!

To join the crochet squares together I used a fun slip stitch technique which I demonstrate in the YouTube Video below:
You will want to make a back panel for the pillow. I am using Red Heart Super Saver in Cafe Latte for the back, a size H Crochet Hook, and used the pattern below:
Magic Ring, chain 2 and make 16 DC in ring, join to first DC, chain 2
Row 2: DC in first 3, 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in next (corner), DC in next 3, 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC, DC in next 3, 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC, DC in next 3, 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC and join to first DC, chain 2
Round 3-12: DC in each stitch and make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner, join, chain 2
Fasten off after round 12 and weave in ends.
Single crochet the edges of the two panels together around a 16×16 pillow form. You can purchase them at Michaels Craft Store!
