After about the first 10 rounds you will want to start inserting your pipe cleaner. Fold it in half and twist it and then insert (not all the way to the end though) and crochet around it leaving about 1/2 inch still poking out.

CrochetCat7

Add safety eyes at about 9 rows up from the bottom and then place nose two rows lower and centered between the eyes.

CrochetCat_whiskers

Take long strand of white (or black) yarn and sew on whiskers.

CrochetCat9

Stuff head with polyfil fiber stuffing and sew shut with your tapestry needle using the whip stitch.

CrochetCat10

Sew on ears to both ends of the head.

CrochetCat11

Stuff body with polyfil fiber stuffing. The top of the body matches up perfectly with round 3 of the head.
Line them up and stitch together!

CrochetCat12

Poke the end of the pipe cleaner that is sticking out of the tail into the side/back of the cat body (about 9 rows up from the bottom). Sew onto body!

Love this pattern……like all your patterns it is superb but how do I save it? the usual print friendly button is missing ?

  3. Jen says

For the cat head, round three does NOT say “chain 1” at the end. Do we really not do a chain even though we do chain one for the other rows?

These are so cute! Looking for something to give my 16 month old niece for Halloween and this is purrfect! She loves cats, always turning back to them in her favorite book. Thank you once again for a lovely, quick pattern–that you share for free! Thank you!

Such a sweet pattern, thank you for making it available to all. :-)

My friend and I are both making one (or two) and are confused about Round 3 of the head and Round 3 of the body, both do not say to join, chain 1 but the rest of the rounds do. Why is that?
