Are Geese the next big trend?! Maybe! Move aside unicorns and owls because this Goose is giving us all the good vibes! I love how gender neutral this blanket is. I used pink for the background but you could switch it up to any color you’d like! It’s a simple 40×50 pixel graph that works up to be 35 inches wide by 45 inches tall.
I am using Bernat Velvet yarn and the colors are not only spot on perfect for this goose, but this yarn is super soft, smooth, and velvety. I love the weight of it and how cuddly and snuggly it is! You will have to weave in your ends extra well (video below) because the yarn is slick and you don’t want your blanket coming unraveled. I also recommend hand washing.
That all being said, feel free to use any type of yarn you are comfortable with for this project! Remember my Bunny Blankets? I used worsted weight yarn (super value) for the main part and then pipsqueak yarn for the fuzzy ears. That would be a stunning combo for this blanket as well! You could use worsted weight yarn for the background and white pipsqueak for the goose body! See the Bunny Blankets HERE.
If you aren’t familiar with corner-to-corner crochet, then this is a great project to practice a new skill on! Corner-to-corner (or C2C for short) is a technique where you crochet little blocks/tiles/squares (whatever you want to refer to them as) in a diagonal form. Starting from one corner (usually bottom right) and ending in the top corner of your pixel graph. Each one of the little pixel blocks is a chain 3 + 3 DC stitches. Very simple! If you can make a double crochet stitch then you can easily make a corner-to-corner blanket! If you need help starting a C2C project, you can follow THIS VIDEO DEMONSTRATION by The Crochet Crowd for more explanation on how to crochet C2C afghans.

How did I make the Goose Pixel Graph, you ask? It all started with a cartoon/clip art picture of a goose. Then I uploaded it to www.stitchfiddle.com and it created a pixel graph for me! I did clean up the graph a bit in photoshop.
Here is a video on how to make a C2C color change and how to weave in those pesky ends!
I chose not to add a border… at least that is how I feel at the moment… I may change my mind later! But the weight of the blanket feels perfect right now and the edges are straight and clean.
