This Llama Crochet Block isn’t a part of our Animal Square CAL, but it could be! I spotted it on Yarnspirations.com and had to get it on my hook! If you size down to a G (or maybe an H) hook I’m pretty sure you could get it to fit on our animal squares. The pattern below is following the original pattern from the Yarnspirations website and I’ll be making it into a baby blanket!

Get creative! I used different eyes to make all 4 of my llama blocks unique.
This easy design made with Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. I am using colors Coral Red, Cornmeal Yellow, Frosty Green, and Country Blue for the blocks. The llama is crocheted with Soft White.
You will need a bit of brown yarn to stitch on the nose.
I love these oval shaped safety eyes from Amazon!
When sewing your llama onto the crochet block, try and work through the middle of the block stitches. This way the backside will be clean. Or you can add another llama to the backside of it!
If you want to make a blanket, make a round of single crochet stitches along the edges of the block using the same color (in this case frosty green). Make 3 SC in each corner.
Then take the soft white and DC around all the edges making 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.
Stay tuned for a post about the final blanket design! But for now, get started on those crochet llamas!
